Yes, Duncan is back from Kempsey! It's been a long 5 days without him and I'm never letting him out of my sight again. I haven't had a good night's sleep since he left and I am just so tired now. It will be so nice to have him home! Geeze I missed him!
That's it. Nothing else new to report. I just realized today that as of 5 o'clock tonight, I only have 13 working days left here. My last day is April 24, but due to Rostered Days Off and a heap of public holidays this month, I only have 13 days. How great is that?!
OK, I should get back to work. Have to finish off my 14th last day!
Cheers,
Chantal

May 3rd...and family stuff!
So, Duncan and I have booked our tickets, and we're off on May 3 at 8:40am. We actually booked our flights on Friday, but I was so busy thinking about missing him while he's away that I forgot to mention it earlier! Ooops! Its pretty exciting...the more I think about it, the happier I am to be going back.
Anyhow, aside from news just about me, I'll talk about other stuff for the next couple of minutes.
As I mentioned last week, Mom and Peter have found a house that they're quite keen on. Well, actually, its Peter who found it, since Mom's in Canada and he's in Germany. It sounds perfect for them...in a lovely location and a lot of work needed on it. Duncan and I are pretty eager to visit them next year!
The rest of my family is doing well. My brother Steve is in Dawson Creek still, working for some company there, but I can't remember the name of it. Chae and Scott are living together in Edmonton, going to uni. Chae is kicking ass in her Fine Arts course, and Scott's loving his Japanese studies. Little Katja is 7 1/2 and just got her ears pierced. She feels so grown up!
As for Duncan's family, Jenny and Marty are still in Kempsey. Jenny's still working at Barsby's and Marty's started year 11 and he's having mixed emotions about his classes. Duncan's Dad is out on his property in Nymbodia working on getting his house finished up.
And that's about it for family stuff.
Take care and catch you soon!

Alone for the weekend....and then two more days after....
So, Duncan's gone for the weekend...he's going down to his mom's place to watch his little brother play cricket. I was going to go with him, but in the end, we figured it be better for him to stay a few days more, so he could see some friends before we go, and do some stuff around town.
That leaves me by myself for the weekend. No worries though...I've got Grey's Anatomy downloads to watch! Australia is a bit behind in the episodes, but I'm almost caught up to North America's most recent episode (I didn't have much to do when Duncan was gone last time!).
Anyhow, that's about it for now.
Cheers!

Can't concentrate....
At work again, unable to my job properly knowing that in a few weeks someone else will be doing it and it won't matter what I do in the meantime. Silly attitude, and I'm trying to get past it but I still find myself doing things like adding posts to this blog and wandering around the office looking for someone who is as distracted as I am!
I don't have anything productive or constructive to write about, so I'll leave it at that. I'll go hunt down some websites about Korea and link the blog up to them. You can have a wander.
Cheers!

PS Thanks for everyone who's left posts....its been really nice!

Just a little hello...
Hey Everyone!
Just saying hi and thanks to everyone who's left a comment...its nice to hear from you!
No new changes since the last post...still in the prep process...
Duncan's heading to Kempsey to watch his brother play cricket over the weekend, and then he's going to stay a day or two to see some friends and have a drink with them before we leave. I'd go, but I have to work.
Miss you all and talk to you soon,
Chantal

Preparation time....
Hey everyone!
So, I plan on adding pictures sometime soon, but because I'm at work, I don't have time to do it.
Things are going well in the preparation process. We've got a date picked out to fly to Seoul, which is May 3. We haven't purchased our ticket yet but we should do in the next few days. We've been busy planning time to see friends and family before we head out, and realize that a month isn't really as long as it initially seems to be!
I don't think that I have much else to tell at the moment; we're just getting ready. I have to admit one thing though...I'm sad that we're leaving just as fall is approaching. I really miss winter and being in Armidale is as close to a Canadian winter you can get in Australia. But, there is cold weather in Korea, and I know a week after it comes, I'll be wishing it was summer again! There's no pleasing some people, eh?!
Talk soon,
Chantal

Another attempt at a blog...
I know I started one of these the first time I left for Korea, but somehow I've convinced myself I'll keep it going this time.
*people delude themselves into thinking that it will work for them.....but it might work for us!!*
As some of you may know, we've currently been living in a pretty country town/city called Armidale. That is about to change.
After much deliberation, we've decided to go back to Korea. It wasn't an easy decision to make, as we both love Australia and we're happy with Armidale. However we also both miss Asia immensely and feel that our desire to travel and explore the world is still strong, and we aren't as ready to settle as we initially thought (well, maybe as I initially thought...Duncan's been keen to go back to Asia since the day we left!!).
We leave early May, with me finishing my last day of work on April 24th. It was hard to resign, as all the people I work are just lovely and strong relationships were developing. We will spend some time packing and moving and spending time with Duncan's family before flying out.
We will be working for a company called CDI (Chungdam Institute). Duncan has friends from his former school in Seoul that work for CDI and they have nothing but good things to say about it. Training starts early-mid May, and the start of the semester is May 28.
Other news that has helped me in my eagerness to go back to Korea is the fact that my mom, Peter, and Katja have sold their house and are moving to Germany! They'll be moving out of their house on May 31, with possibly a brief stop in Manitoba to say hi/bye to my grandma and aunts and uncles. Duncan and I are very excited for them, and for us as well, as now we'll be able to go to Europe whenever we want! :)
Anyhow, that's it for now.
I truly hope I have it in me to keep this blog going. My track record isn't much to brag about, though.
Keep in touch and hope to hear from you all soon!
With love,
Chantal and Duncan
